LOVING MEANS PUTTING SOMEONE'S HAPPINESS IN FRONT OF YOURS

There was a boy known as Richard. He was single and kind. He aced in studies. He had two amazing and caring friends. His parents were proud of him. He was the apple of all the Teacher's eyes. He was balancing on the middle line of introvert and extrovert, of nerd and backbencher, of a troublemaker and an A-grade student. His life was always a bit of yin and yang. This was a life what most students would love to have. He enjoyed the views of both the sides. All he needed was her. Her name was Nancy. She was beautiful in her own way. She used to have a boyfriend. His name was Ian. Ian was a jerk. Everyone knew that. Even Nancy did but she ignored it. Because we ignore the flaws of a person if we fall in love with them. He was using her. She knew it. She got hurt but she was ready to burn.Richard was the perfect guy for her. Nancy's friends knew it but Nancy always treated him like a friend. Richard would have treated her like a Diamond. Richard loved Nancy but never told her. Until Nancy's breakup.

Richard waited for a month till Nancy got over him. He said that he had a crush on someone.Nancy wanted to know. She asked Richard to meet him at the park.But all she talked about was Ian. Richard was understanding. He listened. He knew understanding was more important than replying. He knew that she was not over him. Nancy could not accept the fact that was not over Ian. Then she asked Richard about his crush. Richard knew that if he said the truth, it would seriously mess things up. He lied and said that it was Emily. Emily was a cool girl and Richard's best friend but he never thought of her in that way.

Nancy said that it was awesome and that Richard and Emily would be perfect together. Richard knew that he had taken a decision which his friends would not be happy about. But he knew that it was right. Then Nancy cried. She started sobbing about Ian. Richard knew that Nancy could not live without Ian. He knew that Ian was a bad guy. But if it made Nancy happy, he was happy. What he did was probably the moat stupid thing.

He advised Nancy to chase Ian and said that Ian was a nice guy. The next day he went and talked to Ian about Nancy. He told him to be serious about Nancy. Lucky he said yes without any hesitation. After a week they got back together. They both looked happy together. Richard cried every night but never showed it to anyone. He didn't want sympathy. He just wanted her. But he never wanted to take her happiness. Till Nancy found out that Ian was cheating on her and found them making out in the garage.

After that day no one ever saw Nancy for a week. Everyone thought that she had left town. Everyone knew that she would not attempt suicide. She was sensible enough. Emily texted Nancy that Richard never had a crush on her and it was always Nancy. Nancy received that text but never replied. Then there came a day when everyone gathered at Emily's dad's cafe. Nancy had returned. She had realized something.

She did not speak anything. She had her hands around a coffee mug which had gone cold. There was a newspaper in her hands. Its title said TEEN DIED IN A CAR ACCIDENT WHILE GOING TO FIND A LOST FRIEND.
